| Each and every
year, more and more of the nations work force is moving behind the
desk into office related jobs.
The
hours spent on these jobs are increasing as well. Typical workdays
require less activity as technology and automation take over the
most basic manual tasks.
Today’s population is no longer using free
time away from the office to engage in physical activity. We have
become an inactive, sedentary culture at work and at home. The decreased
work related activity combined with less basic daily activity is
causing serious musculoskeletal dysfunction in our bodies. We can’t
function like we are supposed to.
Couple this trend with the current food industry,
which competes for our dollars by offering value in bigger portions.
We live in an environment where we are constantly surrounded be
easily accessible food that is inexpensive, tastes good, and is
served in large portions. It is easily understood why two-thirds
of Americans are overweight. We eat more and move less.
The result of our technology enriched, sedentary
lifestyle leads to muscular dysfunction, postural distortions, ankle,
knee, hip, and shoulder injuries as well as chronic low back issues.
This degenerative deconditioning is costing businesses
approximately $120 billion dollars in lost work time alone*.
Our current environment and lifestyle produces
inactive and non-functional people which leads to muscular dysfunction,
postural distortions, and chronic injury.
